The Forum Stadtpark exhibition comprised of a large-scale fabric quilt, a ‘sound-quilt’ installed across multiple speakers and a workshop area.
The fabric quilt was constructed from bed-sheet banners made to mark each femicide in Austria for local monthly demonstrations as well as demand banners created collectively in workshops. These banners formed the main quilt panels, connected by lines of fabric cyanotype printed with flowers, photos from the local demonstrations, written contributions from participants, and a ritual text created by Nayarí Castillo.
The sound quilt was created by Reni Hofmüller from recordings from workshops, demonstrations, household objects and two recording sessions: a performance of the ritual by Nayarí Castillo, Consuelo Mendez and Reni Hofmüller and a group recording of activists shouting the demands from the fabric quilt.
